6 Reasons We Will Be Renewing our Amazon Prime Membership

Have you heard the news?!

Amazon is increasing the prices for Amazon Prime from $99/year to $119/year starting in May of this year.  Although I am not super excited to pay more money each year, we will still be subscribing to Amazon Prime and here are some of the reasons why:

  1. The obvious: Free 2-Day Shipping.  Having this feature has saved us so much money when shipping gifts for presents or holiday time for our friends and family that live out of the area.  I know there are other places that offer free shipping (we have a Target debit Red Card and are offered free shipping) but free shipping is just one of the reasons we will be renewing.
  2. Amazon First Reads.  Every month, Amazon allows Prime Members a free Kindle book every month (you choose from a few that are offered).  I absolutely love it and have read some great books this way that I wouldn’t have normally even considered.
  3. Amazon Music.  I use this almost every day to play music for the kids or when I am working out.  I know there are other services out there but I’ve been really happy with this one.
  4. Amazon Video.  They have some great kids programs (Dora the Explorer, Wild Kratts) and some recently added shows that I really like.
  5. Amazon Photos.  You get unlimited free photo storage which I think is pretty cool.  You can create a group and share your photos with people of your choosing.
  6. Amazon Family.  Members get 20% off diapers and baby food.  We have this and it’s been such a great saver for diapers.  They are even cheaper than the Costco diapers on sale!

Will you be renewing your Amazon Prime membership despite the price increase?  What’s your favorite Prime feature?
