Have you heard the news?!
Amazon is increasing the prices for Amazon Prime from $99/year to $119/year starting in May of this year. Although I am not super excited to pay more money each year, we will still be subscribing to Amazon Prime and here are some of the reasons why:
- The obvious: Free 2-Day Shipping. Having this feature has saved us so much money when shipping gifts for presents or holiday time for our friends and family that live out of the area. I know there are other places that offer free shipping (we have a Target debit Red Card and are offered free shipping) but free shipping is just one of the reasons we will be renewing.
- Amazon First Reads. Every month, Amazon allows Prime Members a free Kindle book every month (you choose from a few that are offered). I absolutely love it and have read some great books this way that I wouldn’t have normally even considered.
- Amazon Music. I use this almost every day to play music for the kids or when I am working out. I know there are other services out there but I’ve been really happy with this one.
- Amazon Video. They have some great kids programs (Dora the Explorer, Wild Kratts) and some recently added shows that I really like.
- Amazon Photos. You get unlimited free photo storage which I think is pretty cool. You can create a group and share your photos with people of your choosing.
- Amazon Family. Members get 20% off diapers and baby food. We have this and it’s been such a great saver for diapers. They are even cheaper than the Costco diapers on sale!
